Yeah, which made me resent how it was glossed over in Our Band Could Be Your Life.

I think it might be the best music bio book I've read

such good insight into the psychology of the band and both sides of their live fast die alcoholic self sabotage everything lifestyle
My listening experience in balanced mode reveals the great depth of EARTH

Cool, I've been waiting for a demo/bootleg of Rock n Roll Ghost to surface for a while now. Also I haven't read many rock bios in my life but I just want to echo the sentiment that Trouble Boys is wonderful.

So I'm going back to the Don't Tell A Soul reissue from 2008. There's a demo of Talent Show that's really good and assuming there's more for this session, why aren't they on the box? There's also a take of We'll Inherit the Earth subtitled Mix 1. I'm curious if that's from the Bearsville sessions.

Regardless, I have always thought this album was overlooked and needed a good remix ala Velvet Underground's VU/1969 sessions, and now we're getting it. Extremely hyped.

They released the new Talent Show mix today:

They definitely curbed a lot of the 80's production (at least by listening to the drums). I'm really excited to hear the rest of this.

Things I notice after a comparison:

- Removal of reverb on both vocals and drums
- Dialogue and additional drums in the beginning
- Random banjo in the 2nd half

Evaluation: I definitely like it more than the original cut

I suspect the problems with that one are baked in and cannot easily be unfucked like Don't Tell a Soul can.

I mean they remixed The Beatles shit so I think if this goes well, Tim or Pleased to Meet Me is next.
