Rambo should go back to taking on shitty local Police.

also I think the final scene was like a 15 minute static shot of Rambo walking down an open road "going home" that reminded me of when they roll credit sequences extra slow to pad out the run time to feature length.
I'll send indulgently refer you to my month long action movie thread. I write some dumb paragraphs on a movie that doesn't merit it.

Stallone is politically capricious - a sentimental populist whose movies reflect whatever politics he thinks his audience wants to see. His audience is now a male, 50 something nostalgic demo who were weaned on the reactionary fascism of 80s action movies and likely have blue lives matter bumper stickers. Of course he's going for the cartels.

Escape plan was rad. Arnold hams it up as a duplicitous antihero terrorist that you love, and 50 Cent is a computer hacker, which is signified entirely by the fact that he wears glasses. Stallone is Arnold's straight man. It's fun.
More escape plan, less last blood is what I'm saying.

Best things Stallone has done in the 2010s:
Writing homefront screenplay which is dumb ass fun. Not muscling in on trying to write creed. Escape plan. The escape plan sequel where he lets big Dave bautista be charming and likeable while Stallone sulks.

if you're morbidly curious about this movie but don't want to support it with $$ and don't care about quality, there's an adequate copy floating around
it's not great, and there's those weird small translucentish ads on-screen, but I may just opt for this instead

"First Blood Part 2" is a pretty tough title to top in terms of knuckleheadery

I have been kind of enjoying how every review I've seen shits on this movie's overt MAGA-ness.
I have not seen it and will not see it.
I think I feel bad for the guys playing random villains though. Imagine you're trying to break into Hollywood, you're not even a real actor or a real stunt guy yet, and your highlight reel is just this toxic turd which you had no ability to influence or alter whatsoever, except by not even getting to have it in your highlight reel.

Saw this with my amc a list the other day. Was pretty bad. Boring for the first 2/3 and then just dumb action. My friend kept falling asleep.

there was a trailer for the new roland emmerich movie before this, which looks a lot worse in this respect. they are both racist movies but the emmerich looks like literal us army propaganda

it was weird watching this after ad astra because they both have pretty much exactly the same scene where a child asks their father why they left and the father responds with essentially
"fuck off"Toggle Spoiler. did not expect thematic similarities between those two movies
