So she has to make the right choice to survive to m11, 616. She never dies before mutation, or if she does it's in m12.

Also destiny LIES?

Slartisfgh is never mentioned in The Bible, but it is here, during one of the early battles, that Matthew spontaneously became liquid.

Or m10 is 616 and this is m11, and by the end the librarian or dougtoa forms a bridge (uses the bridge) to access m10 where the reboot happens

Could be that she's reborn into M11 but for some reason her powers don't manifest at puberty. HoX / PoX give us a look at M1-M10, then X-Men, New Mutants, etc., pick up where the recently-ended titles left off (and AREN'T continuations of an HoX / PoX timeline), and it's only at that point, in 616-2019, that she either reveals her nature to Charles or that it's discovered in some other way, and then the story goes on from there.

That's what I love about this shit.

It's not, "I have no idea where this is going." It's, "I can think of 20 different ways in which this could go and all of them are interesting."

Yeah. And since I was happy with the endings of FF, Avengers and Secret Wars, I know this will also end well. Unlike our favorite tv shows.

This is the one where my lack of knowledge of old X-Men minutiae really feels like a hindrance but I still had a blast.

Everyone noticed the creepy little mind control bubbles floating around Scott as Xavier tells him to attack Sol's Hammer, right?Toggle Spoiler

Finally remembered what it was that I was chewing over earlier today.

There's a moment in Last Temptation when Jesus and Judas (characterized as an anti-Roman zealot) kinda negotiate the nature of Jesus' ministry, and Jesus kinda partially acquiesces to Judas' desire for a rebellion, and Judas in turn agrees to give Jesus' approach a chance. But Judas also warns Jesus up front that he'll kill him if he strays even an inch from the plan once they get started.

It felt like there was more than a little bit in that in the opening scene.

Yeah, the entire headfake of the Worldmind being this monumental step forward and possibly a key plot point, only to turn out to have been created for the sole purpose of luring the Phalanx back to the solar system, was great.

I honestly don't know what Cypher's whole deal has been in the years since he died, but I like that Hickman is giving him a prominent role in at least two time periods, and his connection to the Phalanx makes me think he's gonna remain important moving forward. His is the kind of power that Hickman would enjoy playing with, I think.

No surprise that he's already established a trend of playing with language in these first four issues.

Doug being important might also explain Hickman on New Mutants after this is done.

Shit is dense
A lamp with a white shade was knocked over and broken. Someone was smoking pot. “This is the pot room!” a young man said.

One of the commenters mentioned something I noticed and almost immediately forgot: Percival's ability to cloak people from detection by machines is a callback to the Outback era when the team was magically invisible from all recording devices.

Revisiting all four issues. The narration over Rasputin's tarot card refers to her as "the girl with one foot in two worlds" -- maybe she's the one who ends up passing between Moira's lives?
